Mineister of Education and Science of Georgia made a report for the public on one-week activities conducted at the Ministry.
The Minister introduced Deputy Ministers and their relevant competences to the journalists. First Deputy Minister Tamar Sanikidze will be in charge of financial sphere, Deputy Minister Davit Zurabishvili will head Higher Education and Science, Ketevan Natriashvili - Vocational and technical Education and Aluda Goglichidze will supervise General Education.
Giorgi Margvelashvili also introduced Ms. Maia Miminoshvili as head of National Examinations Center and Mr. Levan Abashidze, head of Office of Resource Officers of Educational Institutions.
During the meeting with the journalists, the Minister discussed a number of issues, such as new model for examinations, the process of cooperation among politically confronted parties within the system; increase in grant financing, actuation of Council of Regents in order to develop Higher education; improvement of educational infrastructure.
Minister Giorgi Margvelashvili once again emphasized that the system of education will be depoliticized and decentralized and each deputy minister shall provide the public with detailed information about the novelties taking place in their relevant departments and bodies on regular basis.
