A Conference on “WorldSkills Georgia for Quality Vocational Education” was held today in “Courtyard Marriot”. The conference aims at developing and improving quality of vocational education in Georgia as well as bringing it closer to international standards. The conference working group included Deputy Minister Ms. Ketevan Natriashvili, representatives of vocational educational institutions and private business sector.
National competition of WorldSkills Georgia was announced at the conference, which will be held on July 2-7 in Leipzig. In the 42nd competition of Worldskills International, Georgia will participate for the first time. Candidates from our country will be selected according to the following specialties: welder, cook and web-designer. Best qualified Georgian representatives will be trained by the experts of Worldskills Georgia.
WorldSkills Georgia is a mutual project of National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement of Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and private institutions and associations. The project is implemented with the technical support of German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The organizers introduced detailed information on Worldskills Georgia and Worldskills international to the guests. Representatives of business sector were called on to provide sponsorship for WorldSkills Georgia 2013. The organizers also made interesting proposals crucial for the development of vocational education.
