Georgian team won first place in Mathematics, Physics and Informatics in the 9th International Zhautikov Olympiad held in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan. Seniors from Physics and Math Komarov Public School 199 of Tbilisi, Ilia Vekua Public School 42 of Tbilisi, Physics and Math Andria Razmadze Public School of Kutaisi and Private Demirel College of Tbilisi participated in the Olympiad.
Representatives from Georgia won 5 Gold, 7 Silver and 4 Bronze medals in individual and team competitions. Gela Maghaltadze (Mathematics – Komarov School), Giorgi Svanadze (Mathematics – Komarov School), Akaki Margvelashvili – (Mathematics- Razmadze Public School), Tornike Mandzulashvili (Informatics – Vekua School) and Giorgi Guliashvili (Informatics- Demirel College) are the winners of Gold Medals.
Giorgi Gonashvili (Mathematics – Komarov Public School), Jimsher Skhirtladze and Giorgi Skhirtladze (Informatics –Komarov School), Nika Nadiradze (Informatics – Komarov School), Nikoloz Svanidze (Informatics- Komarov School), Sandro Maludze (Physics- Komarov School) and Sergi Chalauri (Physics- Komarov School) won Silver Medals.
Winners of Bronze Medals are: Davit Janjalia (Physics-Razmadze public school), Zaur Meshveliani (Mathematics-Komarov School), Amiran Melia (Mathematics-Komarov School) and Davit Tskhadaze (Physics – Komarov School). Besides, Komarov School became a winner in total rating of school teams. Andria Razmadze Public School 41 received a Diploma for the successful participation.
The Georgian team participated in the 9th International Zhautikov Olympiad with the financial support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Deputy Minister Aluda Goglichidze stated that the Ministry will continue to support talented pupils in future.
