Computer program KCFE will be implemented in Georgian schools with the aim of popularizing chess among teenagers. Today, a well-known chess player and a world champion Garry Kasparov made a presentation of the program and a lesson in Tbilisi Experimental School №1.

Georgia is the first country to implement new methods for teaching chess. The program will be launched in 100 pilot schools throughout Georgia. This will improve teaching quality apart from popularizing chess. As chess grandmaster noted, chess is not merely a sport, but a new and good way to improve education system, as chess helps young people to develop intellect and logic.

Garry Kasparov held an online lesson for public schools of Poti and Kutaisi. The program envisages innovative methods for teaching and evaluation process of players, including from the regions. The results will be shown on electronic board after the game is over. The online connection was provided by Education Management Information System (EMIS) of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia

The presentation was attended by David Zurabishsvili, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Zurab Azmaifarashvili, Firs Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs and Giorgi Giorgadze, President of Georgian Chess Federation.
