The representatives of
the National Screening Center
and the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Ms. Irine Kurdadze , held a
meeting with teachers.
In the framework of this
program, female teachers from 25 - 60 years will have a free screening of the
neck of uterus and females from 40-70 years will have free medical examination
of malicious of breast under the prevention campaign.
All over the world, as
well as in Georgia,
breast and cervical cancers are the most common form of oncologic pathologies
among women. The sharp increase of such deceases are observed in Georgia
in recent years. Considering this fact, the prevention program of malicious
tumor of breast and the neck of uterus was set under support of the First Lady
of Georgia Sandra E. Reolofs and by financial support of Tbilisi Municipality
and UNFPA in 2008.
The representatives of
National Screening Center
and the Deputy Minister Ms. Irine Kurdadze underlined the importance of
teachers involvement in this program.
In the scope of the
program, different informational materials and pamphlets were given to the
teachers.
