The Minister of Internal Affairs , Vano Merabishvili, the Minister of Refugees and Accomodation, Koba Subeliani, also the Chairman of Education, Science and Culture Committee, Goka Gabashvili and other members of the Parliament visited the exhibition and expressed different opinions.
The competition was dedicated to the Russian aggression towards Georgia in 2008. All schools took participation in the competition. More than 10,000 literary and pictorial creations were accepted by the Ministry of Education and Science.
The children of primary schools painted pictures about Russian-Georgian war, while students of general and higher education wrote free topics.
Each school identified two winners at the first step. Secondly, three best participants were selected by the regional commission.
The competent commission of the famous painters and writers identified the finalists of the competition. The winners, 4th grader Ana Gegechkori and 10th grader Batu Biblaia were presented with personal computers. The participants, who took second and third places, received prizes of 500 and 300 GEL. Around 40 children were awarded with diplomas. The portable computers were presented to the best participants of the nomination - “The Favorite of the Minister”, to Juna Kapanadze and Irakli Ratiani for creating the best painting and writing.
The main aim of the competition is to show children’s emotions during the war to the broader society.This competition will be held every year.
