Telephone and Internet communication problem was marked out by the representatives from the Ministry during the previous visit of the village schools located near the administrative border. The problem is caused by the impact of high frequency antennas positioned beyond temporary line of demarcation.
As a result of timely response by the Ministry, it was decided to install powerful modem in these schools. The project will be implemented by Magticom. As a result, Internet speed will increase four times. Education Management Information System (EMIS) of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia will ensure installation of new wireless (WiFi) network, as well as, VoIP telephones. This will enable schools to have stable and uninterrupted connection with telephone network of the System.
Minister of Education and Science Tamar Sanikidze noted, that uninterrupted connection with schools aimed at information exchange process represents one of the priorities of the Ministry.
It is noteworthy, that before, the pupils of the schools located near temporary line of demarcation were unable to get fully involved in school competitions, as the use of modern technologies is required to do so.
With respect to the beginning of a new competition, Tamar Sanikidze called on the pupils of the schools located in the villages near temporary line of demarcation to participate in school blog competition “Let me Introduce my District”
The competition focuses on the study of local environment, presentation of positive sides of a district/village/town and identification of existing problems, as well as the use of acquired knowledge and skills in other subjects (Information is available on the official web-site of the Ministry www.mes.gov.ge).
Libraries of Dvani and Takhtidziri public schools received computers from Minister. Tamar Sanikidze introduced new initiatives of the Ministry to village population and teachers and listened to their ideas.
