Inclusive vocational education enables people with disabilities and with special educational needs to acquire a vocation for further chance of employment. Vocational education is a considerable investment of the State in the process of making people with disabilities competitive on the labor market. Implementation of inclusive education in vocational education system started in January 2013.
A consultation group is operating at the Ministry of Education. The group is comprised of representatives from non-governmental organizations, the Office of Public Defender and people with special educational needs. Report on already accomplished and planned activities in inclusive vocational education is introduced to the consultation group members once per three months. The group members make written recommendations.
First Deputy Minister of Education, Ketevan Natriashvili introduced a report covering six-month period to the members of the consultation group.
Testing results of people with special educational needs and the issues of planning the process of vocational education were emphasized in course of the meeting.
