On the presentation was discussed basic data analysis of USAID/G-PriED project from spring 2013, as well as established national standards in mathematics and literature; The auditory was informed about the contribution that USAID / G-PriED project make to strengthen the skills of elementary school pupils mathematics and literature. Established national standards, in future will help Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia accurately determine the level of knowledge of mathematics and literature of primary school pupils.
Second part of the event was dedicated to the review of instruments used in process of final evaluation.
USAID / G-PriED project - the United States Agency for International Development / Georgia’s Primary Education 5-year project (2011-2016). Its budget consists from 8.7 million USD, and its main purpose is to support primary education system and to improve the skills of ethnic minority pupils in literature and mathematics in 122 pilot schools. Mentioned project is in full compliance with government’s aim to reform educational system and transform it from teacher oriented model to pupil oriented model.
Evaluation of results of USAID/G-PriED project was carried out by Mendez England & Associates (ME&A), with partnership of Research institute (NORC) under Chicago University.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science, G-PriEd plans to strengthen the key components of education system by teacher training, their professional development and diagnostic assessments in classrooms. The project will ensure the utmost transparency and accountability in schools and more involvement of communities and citizens.
