The project was about collaboration between schools and museums. It involved students from the first experimental school, Galaktion Tabidze’s N51 public school of Tbilisi and X and XI grade students from Classical Gymnasium. The students have found the materials regarding the tragic fate of repressed Georgian artists and reflection of Soviet Union in Georgian literature. These materials are protected in the museums and were not known for society.
Partners of the project were the museum flat of Mikheil Javakhishvili, Tbilisi Center for Culture, group “Kartu”, University of Georgia and Ilia State University.
The final round was attended by: Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Lia Gigauri, Head of the Writers’ House of Georgia Makvala Gonashvili, EU cultural attaché Oliver Reisner, proffessors from Ilia State University Tamar Taliashvili and Davit Malazonia.
Competent jury evaluated works of the students and announced the winners: Lekso Sabiashvili- 11th grade student of the Classical Gymnasium with the topic “Problem of Inteligence in the novels of Mikheil Javakhishvili”; Lina Buziashvili- 11th grade student of N51 public school with the topic –“Red dragon has wrapped a crystal tower”; Levan Kharbedia and Giorgi Janjghava – 10th grade students from the first experimental school with the topics –“Concept of sin and fate ethics in Mikheil Javakhishvilis creations”.
The guests have pointed out that this kind of evens are new for Georgian educational space and establishment of similar activities will contribute maintaining the national originality.
