The meeting was powered by ECHO and German international organization “Arbeiter-Saamriter” (ASB).
The goal of the meeting was to adopt a special document/frame-program of decreasing the risk of catastrophe for educational system. The document concerns elements of civil defense for kindergartens, schools, special educational establishments and universities.
The main result of the meeting is an adoption of recommendation document which will provide coordination between authorities and nongovernmental partner organizations. A recommendation list will be a basis for a strategy/frame-program of civil security teaching. The work on the strategy will be finished in 2016-2017.
Representatives of public departments and nongovernmental organizations participated in the meeting which lasted for two days: the main donor ECHO and its partners (the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Emergency Management Agency, Crisis Management Agency) and international nongovernmental organizations (UNICEF, DRR Center, ASB, Save the Children, Oxfam and Georgian Red Cross).
