The goal of the event was a popularization of Akaki’s art and development/revealing of students’ creative skills, to look at Akaki Tsereteli and his works from the modern point of view.
Public and private schools participated in event dedicated to Akaki Tsereteli 175 jubilee. Three contests were held: art contest for I-XII form students; essays for VIII-XII form students: “Akaki Tsereteli and XXI century” and school initiatives. The contests were held in three rounds (school, regional and final rounds).
Creative contest was held for two age groups (I-VI and VII-XII forms). Students/student groups draw pictures, dolls, mould figures and models according to characters of Akaki Tsereteli’s works. Students used creative and original approaches, principles of modern applied art, non-traditional materials etc.
Top ten was revealed by the commission in each age group and they were given I, II, III places and awarded 600, 400, 300 GEL cards respectively for purchasing computer technique and accessories. Those who got IV-X places were given diplomas.
In essay contest the commission named top ten and those from it who got I, II, III places. They were awarded 200, 150, 100 GEL book-shop gift cards respectively. Those who got IV-X places were given diplomas.
In scope of school initiatives the schools were given a possibility to create and invent activities on their own and to report their works. The commission named top 5 creative schools. The best school was awarded 2000 GEL computer technique and accessories card, other four schools got diplomas.
