The President of Georgia , Mikheil Saakashvili opened a new Turkish school-lyceum in Batumi. Before the opening , the President spoke about the priorities of education , underlined the implemented and concretely planned activities. He noted , that 90% of Georgian schools have been fully or partly renovated. Almost all schools are equipped with the heating system, modern stocks. Thousands of stadiums are built; gyms and open stadiums are going to be arranged in Tbilisi and in the regions. Georgia will become the country of modern educational infrastructure.
The President also mentioned the successful training process at vocational education and training centers. Many graduates from Kobuleti training center are employed at famous hotels and restaurants, built in Batumi.
The President spoke about the strategic importance of a new Turkish educational school. The priority of the country is to make Georgian educational system part of the international one. According to the President’s words, Turkish investors were the first who entered instable Georgia. Besides the resistance, they established the best schools and higher education institutions where the future generations are brought up with patriotic feelings.
Many foreign schools exist in Georgia and the schoolchildren of these schools have an opportunity to receive the education abroad. The President said, not only elite will have such opportunity from now on. Georgian diploma will be recognized by the famous international institutions from 2011. In the framework of Bologna process, Georgia will be finally integrated in the international educational system. High quality of education is necessary for implementing this plan. 1000 English Language teachers will arrive to Georgia the next year. They will become the ambassadors of their countries as well as the teachers.
By the announcement of Mikheil Saakashvili, following issues have to be fulfilled for the integration in international educational system: the improvement of quality of education; the integration of researches and at the international level; the mobility of students and the professors; the right development of accreditation process; the improvement of curricula.
The President positively evaluated the work of former ministers of education and science and called the ongoing process Modernization, which has the great importance for saving Georgia. Soon the modernized educational system will include whole Georgia and the occupied 20% of its territory.
