The Minister of Education and science of Georgia, Tamar Sanikidze, congratulated Batumi University 80^th anniversary. She took part in various ceremonials and accompanying with Chairman of the Government of Adjara ASSR, Archil Khabadze, awarded university professors and academic staff with medals of honor and deeds.

Within the framework of the event, there was an exhibition demonstrating the university life and the achievements of Batumi University academic staff (monographs, manuals and etc.), that was unknown for public until now.  A bilingual book named ‘Shota Rustaveli Batumi State university educational center -80’ was presented to the audience. A bilingual anniversary book reveals unique archival materials concerning the history and the achievements of the university. 

Besides that, Ensemble ‘Batumi’ presented a new anthem of the university (lyrics by Davit Tedoradze, composer - Ana Kasrashvili).
