ETF (Enterprise Georgia and European Training Foundation) conducted research in the partner countries, where those groups of citizens were studied who do not work, do not study and are not involved in any kind of training ( "NEET"). According to international survey, percentage of such groups is alarmingly high in Georgia. The survey results showed that in Georgia "NEET" indicator amounts to 35%, which is quite high in comparison to Europe and the partner countries. Presently, problem of "NEET" groups is one of the urgent problems in Europe and unified approach is being developed to solve it. Georgia has to become the part of this unified approach and coherent system needs to be introduced, in order to take a step towards European integration with this concept.

The Ministry of Sciende and Education of Georgia expressed its interest in cooperation with ETF on this issues and it is holding a workshop, where international experts from Irland and Great Britain will discuss the “NEET” problems, possible reasons behind creating and increasing of such groups and research methodology of this issue.

ETF's experts presented a report, which aims together with research results to raise awareness of "NEET" problems at the policy level, concerning its determining factors and to systematic ways for solving this problem.

During the meeting, research directions of "NEET" groups and plan of further development were discussed. The relevant public institutions, social partners and researchers attended the workshop.
