Today, Mr. Alejandro Ome, a research scientist and an expert at National Opinion Research Center of University of Chicago presented the assessment results for the Primary Education Project (USAID/G-PriED). The presentation was attended by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Ms. Tamar Sanikidze, Deputy Minister – Ms. Lia Gigauri, as well as the representatives of International Development Agency of the United States and the Ministry itself.

USAID/G-PriED project results assessment was conducted by Mendez England and Associates (ME&A) in partnership with the research institute (NORC) of University of Chicago.

Primary Education Project Georgia (G-PriEd), funded by the US Agency for International Development in Georgia, is a five-year project (2011-2016), aiming to help improve reading and mathematical skills amongst young students. The project, which was implemented in 122 public schools in pilot mode, is fully in line with the vision and objectives of Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.

The ongoing progress of the Primary Education Project Georgia (G-PriED) was assessed positively, and it had an impact on the reading and mathematical skills. Despite the overall positive results achieved through the project, there are additional activities planned in the future.
