Within the framework of the European Days in Tbilisi, a conference – “Teacher - Guide to Europe" was held at the National Center for Teacher Professional Development, which was organized by the NATO and European Union information centers, in partnership with the National Center for Teacher Professional Development and Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

The conference was opened by the State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration –Mr. David Bakradze; the Estonian Ambassador in Georgia - Mr. Priit Turk; the Director of Friedrich Ebert Foundation Georgia – Ms. Ia Tikanadze; the Deputy Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia – Mr. Tamaz Marsagishvili; and the director of the National Center for Teacher –Mr.  George Machabeli opened.

The conference aims, that teachers fully understand the vital importance for the EU integration and its prospects for Georgia, and learn about the opportunities which is offered to them by the projects organized by the European Union, in conjunction with implementing the shared experience and knowledge in the educational process.

The registration for the seminar was announced in April by the National Center for Teacher Professional Development, and resulted in the selection of 110 teachers (Geography, History and Civic Education) from Tbilisi and various regions. The above-mentioned teachers presented various interesting projects regarding the promotion of European values in Georgia.  The conference revealed ten winners and those teachers will undergo a training course in Estonia.

The project "Teacher - Guide to Europe" was created in 2014 in order to promote European values in the educational system.
