The representatives of Korneli Kekelidze National Center of Manuscripts are continuing their tour for presenting the project “The culture of book fostering” to the public schools of various Georgian regions. This time, the presentation was held at Chiatura public school N1.
The project aims at, based on the theoretical and practical knowledge, to enhance the ability of children to take care of the books, and develop and raise the culture of treating the books in a correct manner. Besides that, the project also aims to study the physical conditions of the books at the libraries of educational institutions, and if needed conduct their rehabilitation process. Consequently, this will significantly improve the current situation at school libraries, and will promote the book restoration philosophy amongst the youth.
The presentation was held for the third time, where students expressed interest towards the project. As the students say, this project is rather unknown to them, but it opens up a very rich and interesting world to them. Additionally, presentations will continue in all regions of Georgia.
