By the successful collaboration of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and Ilia State University, Summer School of Inclusive Education was organized. Summer school’s intended to improve the qualification of those specialists (teachers, psychologists, special teachers and so on…) who are connected with the issues of inclusive education. Each year, based on the challenges in the educational system, the courses of the summer school are chosen and organized. By help of the special courses, summer school supports the needs of the specialists and ensures the improvement of their competence.
In 2016, while choosing the courses of the summer school, the Ministry of Education and Science took the necessities of the people with hearing impairments in to the mind, therefore this year the Summer School will have two main directions:
Summer school had been led by the invited specialists from the Ministry of Education and Research of Norway and from the International Association of the Translators of the Sign Language. In total 70 students participated in the summer school. Also the Norwegian specialists held the consultations with the parents of the kids with the hearing problems.
During 2010 – 2013 the Summer School used to be financed by the Ministry of Education in scales of the grant contract with the Ministry of Education and Research of Norway. From 2014 on, the memorandum of collaboration between Ilia State University and the Ministry of Education and Science has been acting as the base for the Summer School happening.
