A presentation was held regarding the new phase in the pre-school educational reform. The presentation comprised of the action plan of the pre-school educational program, and how it would integrate in the educational system as a whole.
For the first time in Georgia, a law has been passed, which provides the implementation of the national educational standard in all of the pre-school institutions. This will give the opportunity to the Georgian citizens to receive quality and free pre-school education around the country.
The reform is supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), as well as by the Ministry of Education and Science, and with the initiative of the Chairman of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee – Ms. Eka Beselia.
The presentation was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, UNICEF Representative in Georgia - Sascha Graumann, the Mayor – Mr. David Narmania, and as well as the representatives of the international organizations and diplomatic corps. Furthermore, the representatives of the legislative body, Public Defenders, local authorities and the members of the municipal services were invited for the presentation.
