The Deputy Minister of Education and Science – Lia Gigauri, held a meeting with the International Human Rights Expert – Maggie Nicholson. Officials from the East-West Management Institute, and various representatives of the Ministry, as well as the experts also attended the meeting.
The meeting set out to discuss the two-year plan of human rights protection, with its action plan and the main challenges. The results achieved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, in terms of human rights, were assessed positively, and it was mentioned that the Ministry fulfils all its actions, at all levels, which is presented in the document. Amongst them, is the protection from the early marriage, the rights of ethnic minorities, disabled individuals and the prevention of violence.
The sides also discussed the prospects of future cooperation.
