The competition - “Me-Ombudsman 2016” was organized, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, funded by the European Union - “Public Defender Support” Project.

The high culture of human rights protection is one of the basic prerequisites for a full-fledged democratic state. The competition “Me-Ombudsman” gives a unique opportunity to the students aged 13-18 to get acquainted with the principles of the human rights and the activities of the democratic institution. The competition was held for the seventh time, this year. Additionally, there were 864 teams (1728 students), that registered for the competition. The game kicked off on October 10. After the first and the second round, only 22 students managed to transition to the third and the final round. Furthermore, a competent jury composed of three independent experts evaluated the work of final contestants.

Public Defender – Ucha Nanuashvili, the deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Lia Gigauri, the Ambassador of European Union to Georgia – Janosch Hermann, and the author of the “Me-Ombudsman” competition – Archil Talakvadze welcomed and congratulated the winners of the competition and awarded them with special gifts.
