Presentation of the program “Second Opportunity for Education” was held at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The aim of the program is to assist all citizens of Georgia, regardless of age, to acquire mandatory general education (9th grade certificate).
- The children who do not attend schools will be identified within
the program;
- It will be possible to discover and prevent those pupils in
timely manner, who may be unable to complete 9 grades due to family or other
conditions;
- Educational programs for homeless children will be activated;
- The general education programs will be developed for the
persons, who have not passed mandatory 9 grades,
that will become the precondition for
continuing education at the level of vocational education.
The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia
Aleksandre Jejelava opened the event and discussed the importance of the
project.
