Subsequent session of the Rectors Council was held at Ilia State University, which was opened by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Aleksandre Jejelava. The session was attended by the heads of the state and private higher education institutions being the members of the Rectors Council.

At the meeting Aleksandre Jejelava introduced the main directions of development of education and science of Georgia to the members of the Council. Some important issues stipulated by the agenda were discussed, including authorization of higher education institutions, changes to the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education”, the issue of participation of the Georgian Universities in the conference of the International Rectors Association, etc.
