Young Farmers Centres (YFC) were established in five public schools of the regions of Georgia (Sagarejo, Koda, Tsintskaro, Dmanisi, Shaumiani). The Centres aim to develop leadership skills in young people living in the regions of Georgia. Both local young people and young IDPs are united in these Centres.
Grant competition was announced to enable young people to resolve the problems identified by them. Initiative groups of Young Farmers Centres prepared project proposals on problem resolution. Best projects will be awarded micro-grants by association Regional Development for Future Georgia (RDFG).
Trainings continue for Young Farmers Centres (YFC) participants where they get information on modern agricultural technology, new crops, as well as on basics of business administration and entrepreneurship. Considering the conditions and resources available at schools different projects and arrangement of demonstration plots on the school territory are planned.
The project is implemented by association Regional Development for Future Georgia (RDFG) with support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and World Vision – Germany and financing provided by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
