Trainings cycle for pupils, educators, school psychologists and parents was launched for the first time in Georgia, aimed at providing comprehensive thorough information to task groups on the measures to take for violence eradication and its prevention in adolescents.
At this stage, staff at Psychological Centre under the Ministry of education and Science provide trainings for head teachers of specific schools. Simultaneously, other representatives of the task group will also get involved in the trainings cycle. A thorough information will be provided to them on the issue of bullying and its prevention. Lia Gigauri, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, met around 50 head teachers of Tbilisi Public School No 51 at the trainings today. She was introduced to the training process.
The trainings are provided under the project “Identification and Prevention of Violent and Destructive Behaviour” . The main topics include:
· Psychology of Communication
· Behavioural and emotional problems of school age children and adolescents and strategies for effective response to them;
· Violence, psychic health, destructive behavior (aggression, self-mutilation, suicide)
The training aims at making it possible identification of signs of violent, destructive and self-destructive behavior , timely and effective response to them and prevention.
