Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Education and Science Aleksandre Jejelava paid an official visit to Armenia.
Within the framework of the visit, the meeting was held with the Minister of Education and Science of Armenia Levon Mkrtichyan, where the parties discussed the issue of strengthening of cooperation in the field of education and science.
During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by and between the Ministries of Education of the Republic of Armenia and Georgia, which provides for the exchange of students in higher education institutions for the purpose of continuing studies and the issue of scholarships for them, as well as creation of a special working group, which will work on specific issues of cooperation in general, vocational and higher education, as well as science.
During his visit to Yerevan, the Minister visited the Institute of Ancient Manuscripts - Matenadaran and viewed the oldest exhibits, as well as visited the Mkhitar Sebastatsi Educational Complex where Georgian language is taught. Aleksandre Jejelava got acquainted with the academic programs at the “Tumo” Center of Creative Technologies and met with the students.
