The Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini paid a visit to Tbilisi public school №42, returned the previous physics-mathematical status to school and presented it with 10 computers. The teachers, schoolchildren and their parents attended the meeting.
Tbilisi public school №42 functioned as I. Vekua physics-mathematical school for many years. According to the successes in the school and the international Olympiads as well as the statistics of the enrolled schoolchildren, this school is one of the best schools throughout the whole country. The schoolchildren of public school №42 are particularly successful in physics, mathematics and informatics as well as in humanitarian subjects. The country team for the international competitions of the young physicians is composed mainly with the schoolchildren of this school. These competitions are carried out every year and the Georgian schoolchildren systematically take the first place.
The school achieved the best results in the Unified Entry Exams in 2009. 53% of the graduates received the 100% grant. Importantly, that 75% of them were not prepared by the private tutors. Graduates make success with the knowledge acquired at schools.
