Two members of the team of Georgian pupils won silver and bronze medals in the first International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) of Europe. The Olympiad was held in Tartu, Estonia and 95 representatives from 20 countries participated in it. The Georgian team was composed of top 5 pupils from the rated list of the National Physics Olympiad (XI-XII grades).
Pupils of Komarovi School of Physics and Mathematics - Konstantine Gagnidze (silver) and Giorgi Grigolia (bronze) won medals in the First Physics Olympiad of Europe, other members of the team were awarded with the appropriate certificates. The team was led by Davit Nishnianidze (A. Razmadze Kutaisi №41 School of Physics and Mathematics), Teimuraz Kalatozi (Komarovi School of Physics and Mathematics) and Sandro Maludze (Ilia Vekua Tbilisi №42 School of Physics and Mathematics).
