The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - Mikheil Batiashvili and the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia - Arayik Arutunyan discussed the issues of cooperation between the two countries and touched upon the ongoing reforms.

On October 18, the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation and the largest business association of Georgia held signing ceremony. The memorandum was signed by General Director of Rustaveli Foundation - Zviad Gabisonia and the Executive Director of Business Association - Levan Vepkhvadze.

Deputy Minister Levan Kharatishvili briefed the head of the National Tourism Administration - Mariam Kvrivishvili on the principles and future plans of the Council of Europe Cultural Routes Program. It was decided to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions in order to further coordinate the related topics in a more coordinated and effective manner.

The annual General Assembly of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Education (ENQA) is held in Yerevan on October 17-18 this year, where Georgia is officially nominated as a member of the Association.

Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - Mikheil Batiashvili, together with the Director of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation  -  Zviad Gabisonia held a meeting with the members of scientific Academia at Telavi State University, where the sides discussed real prospects of further development and reviewed the challenges for the coming years.

The opening ceremony of the world's first sand games was held in Doha, the capital of Qatar. The event was hosted by the Doha Cultural Center Amphitheater. The organizers introduced the viewers to the culture of Qatar and revived the history of the country.

 The Georgian National Olympic Committee held a ceremony of sending the Georgian delegation to the World's First Sand Games. The Committee wished the athletes a successful performance, President of the Georgian Sand Sports Federation Lasha Lomidze, representatives of the Ministry and the Olympic Committee and members of the delegation attended the event held at GNOC. Georgian delegation will be led by Olympic champion - Leri Khabelov.

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - Mikheil Batiashvili met with the winners of the International Subject Olympiads and with their respsective teachers. The Minister extended his immense gratitude for their achievements and wished them success in the future.

The Council of Europe is conducting a pilot study to assess the risks of manipulation of sports events. The organization selected four countries for the study. Georgia was included in the list along with Norway, Belgium and Portugal.
