Levan Kharatishvili, Deputy Minister of
Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, within the framework of the
TAIEX (European Commission Technical Assistance and Information Exchange
Instrument) Program, launched an Expert Mission on the following topic:
"Safeguarding and Risk Management of Georgian Cultural Heritage in
Emergency Situations".
Owing to the initiative of the Ministry of
Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, the expert mission is being
held on December 2-4 and aims to: assess the current state of cultural heritage
risk prevention and management in Georgia, learn about European legislation,
strategies and best practices, and develop recommendations for Georgia.
Representatives of LEPL - Cultural Heritage Organizations of
Georgia, Ministry of Internal Affairs Emergency Management Service, National
Guard Division of Civil Security of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, Blue
Shield National Committee of Georgia and ICOM National Committee of Georgia
participated in the event.
