2015-2016 National School Olympiad winners have been announced. The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Aleksandre Jejelava together with the deputy minister, Lia Gigauri today awarded the winners of the different subject categories.

By the initiative of Georgian government, on July 1 at 13:00 the Ministry of Education and Science will host an organizational meeting concerning the creation of the future platform which will work on the issues of higher education and science.

Ministry of Corrections of Georgia today started a professional training program at N16 Low Risk Prison. In scales of the program, 20 prisoners will study culinary arts. Course will last for 6 months and after the completion prisoners will receive adequate certificates.

Preparation for the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO – 48) is in an active phase. Supported by the Georgian government an international Olympiad in chemistry will be held for the first time in the country.

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure has completed a construction of the a modern 320 room dormitory complext. The construction was visited by the Minister of Education and Science – Mr. Aleksandre Jejelava, together with the First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure – Mr. Ilia Darchiashvili, and the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund – Mr. Juansher Burchuladze.

Within the Vocational education reform, ministers visited vocational college "Aisi", which is equipped to the needs of individuals with special educational needs.

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Mr. Aleksandre Jejelava together with the Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs – Mr. David Sergeenko visited the vocational college “Mermisi”, where they met with the students and talked about the ongoing projects, which promises the qualification enhancement, in conjunction with acquiring new various professions and foresees a significant increase in the employment.

Within the scope of the education reform’s one of the priority areas - the development of market-oriented educational system, a pilot course if career planning and professional orientation was introduced to the public schools. In order to create a program development and come up with the best available model, the head of the Psychological Center – Mr. Levan Zardalishvili, together with the team of career planning, psychologists and other representatives of the center are visiting Czech Republic on a business meeting, invited by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth Affairs of Czech Republic. Czech Republic has implemented this program for a long time, the program has gone through various stages of development, and today it is considered as one of the most succssessful models.

An event summarising the program - "Teach and Learn with Georgia" was held. During the course of the event, the English, the French and the Chinese volunteers who participate in the program, were awarded with special certificates.
The essay competition winners, local foreign language teachers, varuous school principals also participated in the event.
