In the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, "Employment, Vocational Education and Training Sector Coordinating Council" session was held. The session was held in the framework of financial agreement signed between Georgian Government and Europian Union - “Employment and Vocational Education” and was leaded by Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mrs. Ketevan Natriashvili.

Minister of Education and Science Tamar Sanikidze visited rebuilt public school in Zegaani and met teachers and students. Primary school is functioning in Zegaani, half century old school has not been under reconstruction for years and children had to study in complicated conditions.

New scheme of teachers professional development and career promotion was introduced to Telavi State University professors, Kakheti resource center managers and school directors. The meeting was held by the Minister of Education and Science Tamar Sanikidze and deputies.

Minister of Education and Science Tamar Sanikidze and Deputy Minister Giorgi Sharvashidze have held a meeting with Turkish delegation. Delegation was headed by Head of Administration of Turkish living abroad and relative nations under the Prime Minister’s office Kudret Bulbul. Above mentioned administration carries out different activities in different fields, among them is education.

Today, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze, together with the Educational Infrastructure Development Agency and local authorities observed the rehabilitation works in Kutaisi and met with teachers and students.

UNICEF, in collaboration with Estonia, is supporting the MoES in the revision of the curriculum of all grades to make it more inclusive and responsive to the contemporary needs. In 2014 the curriculum of grades 1 – 6 has been revised. This lays the foundation for the development and publication in 2015 of new textbooks for these grades.
