On July 19, on a birthday of Ivlita
Jibuti, who perished during a disaster in Tbilisi, the library of her name
opened in Chokhatauri. The library was created with the help of initiative and
efforts made by Media-house "Guria news", National Parliamentary
Library of Georgia and youth.

Tamar Sanikidze, Misinter of
Education and Science of Georgia, attended a ceremony of parasport promotion
center opening in Tbilisi. The centre was inaugurated by Tbilisi Mayor David
Narmania and Tariel Khechikashvili, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of
Georgia. Yet another ultramodern sport complex was added to Tbilisi.

Shota Rustaveli Foundation of the
Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia from April 21, 2015 is working
with new Charter. As a result of ongoing re-organization, new collective body
was established - Supervisory Board members of which for the first time became
renowned foreign and Georgian scientists, Minister of Education and Science of
Georgia and Deputy Minister.

For the first time, school sports
Olympiad was held in current year. Public school teams from 11 cities -
Tbilisi, Batumi, Mtskheta, Gori, Rustavi, Telavi, Akhaltsikhe, Kutaisi,
Ozurgeti, Zugdidi and Ambrolauri - were participating in Olympic competitions.

In the Ilia State University, public
defense of master works in training of basic and high school subject teacher
and in educational administration was held which was attended by Tamar
Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Deputy Minister Giorgi
Shervashidze, representatives of international organizations, directors of
schools, professors of various universities and those teachers who were
involved in research of practice.

Austrian Federal Ministry of Transportation and Innovations and representatives
of private sector is visiting Georgia. Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Education
and Science of Georgia and her Deputy Giorgi Sharvashidze met with Austrian

Within the framework of the information campaign “Legal Migration – The Best Choice” conducted by the State Commission on Migration Issues and supported by the EU, a guidebook on legal immigration has been developed in Georgian and English languages.

the effort of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, in recent
years, the role of professional education in development of entrepreneurship has significantly increased. For this
purpose, the Ministry, along with Innovation and Technology Agency of Georgia,
is working on new module of entrepreneurship which envisages establishment of
"Fab Labs" (Fabrication Laboratory) - labs of industrial innovations.
Laboratories will be equipped with modern, high technologies and instruments
controlled by computers.

the purpose of development of general education, in the framework of second,
140 million dollars worth Compact of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), is
announcing first international tender in regions of Georgia, for procurement of
rehabilitation works of public schools in 2015 phase.

In connection with the end of pilot
period for Primary Educational Project (G-PriED) of Georgia, one-day concluding
conference with participation of pilot schools directors was held. Piloting of
primary education project of USAID was going on since 2013 and its purpose was
introduction and implementation of innovative teaching, oriented on pupil.

Peace Corps continues its
commitment of service to the people of Georgia with the swearing-in ceremony of
a new group of 52 Peace Corps volunteers in Tbilisi on July 10. This is the fifteenth
group of Volunteers to serve in Georgia. The volunteers include 33 English teachers and 19 organizational development advisors
who have successfully completed an eleven-week pre-service training program
concentrating on Georgian language and culture, job-specific skills, and health
and safety training.

of Professional Education was held organized by Ministry of Education and
Science of Georgia which was headed by the Minister Tamar Sanikidze. Session
was attended by the members of Professional Council, representatives of various
organizations and international and local experts.
