Georgian
teams are getting ready for international Olympiads 2012. 19 school students will be participating in
Physics, Math, Informatics and Biology Olympiads.
In the scope of the grant contest, initiated by Shota Rustaveli National
Science Foundation web-site www.qim.ge has been created. The web-site
contains the information on Georgian public and political figures of
IV-XVIII centuries.
Throughout Georgia, Unified Entry Exams will start on June 28 and
Teachers Certification Exams will begin on July 2. Students who want to
improve their state grant will be able to take exam on July 6. Graduate
Records Exams will be held on July 12-13. Today, Minister of Education
and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini and Director of National
Examination Center Khatia Dekanoidze held the briefing for the press in
this regard.
This time, the successful school students of
Mtskheta-Mtianeti region received gifts from the President. First Deputy
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Koka Sepherteladze, presented 17
tenth graders of Mtskheta-Mtianeti public schools with personal computers.
This time, the successful school students of Ozurgeti municipality
received gifts from the President. Deputy Minister of Education and
Science of Georgia, Nodar Surguladze, presented 23 tenth graders of
Ozurgeti public schools with personal computers. The representatives of
the local municipality also took part in awarding ceremony.
100 “Future Classrooms” will be opened throughout
Georgia. At the moment, Education and Scientific Infrastructure Development
Agency is rehabilitating and technically equipping 20 “Future Classrooms” in
Shida Kartli region.
Rolf-Dieter Heuer General Director of European organization of Nuclear
Research (CERN) visited International Scientific Summer School in
Bakuriani. He answered the questions of the questions of the school
students and delivered the lecture.
The Office of Resource Officers of Educational Institutions joined a
celebration of International Day against drug abuse. On the initiative
of the SROs, a marathon was organized to mark this event.
The successful school students of Adjara received gifts from the
President. Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Nodar
Surguladze, presented 151 tenth graders of Adjara public schools with
personal computers.
The
Minister, Dimitri Shashkini visited a computer factory “Algorithm” together
with prospective first graders and observed a process of assembling the
netbooks. From
a new academic year, 60 000 first graders will receive a gift from the
President.
School
Resource officers joined rafting championship which was held in Borjomi. Up to
100 persons took part in the competition. The resource officers and adults used
the same raft to navigate in a river.
During Unified Entry Exams, 2
examination centers will be operating in Kutaisi. Overall 17 examination
centers will be open throughout Georgia. Kutaisi examination centers will
be located in buildings of Kutaisi State University and Andria Razmadze Kutaisi
Public School #41.
Construction of a new, modern school started
in the village of Mirashkhani, Aspindza Municipality. First Deputy Minister,
Koka Seperteladze closely observed the site of construction and met the village
population.

Heuer, professor, General Director of European organization of Nuclear
Research, (CERN) and Victor Matveev, Director of The Joint Institute
for Nuclear Research (JINR) delivered public lectures in Tbilisi State
University.
School Cleaning campaign
was launched on the initiative of SROs. The school resource officers, the
teachers and schoolchidren of Tbilisi
public school #161 cleaned the schoolyard and school building on Saturday.
