Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Education and Science - Aleksandre Jejelava is on an official visit to Switzerland.
Within the frameworks of the visit, the Minister visited the Canton of Fribourg and held working meetings at the Grand Genève Institute for Agriculture, Fribourg University and Agricultural Research Centre. Aleksandre Jejelava was especially interested in the issues of dual training system and applied researches in agriculture and food sector, he got familiar with the dual training system at the Grand Genève Institute for Agriculture and visited the cheese factory established on the school base, together with the member of the Government of Fribourg Canton - Marie Garnier.
Within the frameworks of the visit, Aleksandre Jejelava also visited the Federal Agricultural Research Qualification Center, got acquainted with Agroscope’s works regarding the issues of official control of animal food from its production to commercialization, as well as the researches carried out through Green-Feed and DXA (Bi-photon X-rays absorbing) systems.
The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia met with the University Rector, Astrid Epiney, and discussed the possibilities of future cooperation.
The meeting of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia with the head of the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency - Ambassador Manuel Sager, the head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, Johann Schneider-Ammann, as well as the State Secretary for Education, Research and Innovations of Switzerland, Mauro Dell’Ambrogio is planned on August 29.
