A new academic year started on September 15 in schools of Georgia. Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Education and Science Aleksandre Jejelava congratulated pupils, their parents and teachers from Tbilisi Public School №143. On the same day, the Minister visited Tbilisi Public School №32, private “Green School” and Italian School. Aleksandre Jejelava personally congratulated school representatives with the beginning of the academic year.
575 000 pupils are expected in public and private schools in the new academic year, out of which 50 300 first grades are registered in public schools, 6 000 in private schools. Free textbooks will be available to all pupils of public school, from the first grade including the twelfth grade. On September 15, first graders of all public schools will be given a portable computer as a gift. The computers will be given to the form-master of first graders.
The 2017-2018 academic year will be very interesting, active and meaningful for students as part of formal education and additional activities. The lessons which will be held by our teachers will be interesting, since the teachers had a lot of interesting trainings in different directions during the summer in order to promote vocational development. The trainings was also held for the representatives of school administration and principals - how shall they become leaders of education process, how shall they help teachers to make lesson process better successful, more interesting, interactive and result-oriented. That is why we expect that this year will be more effective and interesting.
