Within the framework of the “Science and Innovation Festival” the Ministry of Education and Science and Sokhumi State University organized the scientific conference “Inclusive Education in Higher Education System”. The aim of the conference is to facilitate the implementation, teaching and research issues of inclusive education in higher education institutions of Georgia, as well as the provision of supporting environment for students with special educational needs in higher education institutions.

The conference was opened by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Lia Gigauri. The Inclusive Education Development Division of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Ilia State University, Telavi Iakob Gogebashvili State University, Sokhumi State University, Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Samtskhe - Javakheti State University and Gori State Teaching University were also involved in the work of the conference.
