In order to increase the quality of education in pre-school
institutions, the Government of Georgia approved the relevant standards.
The standards, on the one hand, will increase the qualification
of the teachers in the garden, and on the other hand, will help children of
school age to acquire the skills needed for school.
Early and pre-school state standards of education, including
school preparedness, define educational and development standards for early
child development from 0 to 2 years old, 2 to 3 years and 4 to 5 years old.
The document also defines the environment and quality
characteristics of educational process of the pre-school institution.
As for the professional standards of educators, the new approach
has determined the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes that the educators need to have, in order to plan,
conduct and evaluate pedagogical activities in early and pre-school educational
institutions.
Despite the legal form, the standard will be mandatory for every
educator.
