Today the meeting was held with the American director David Lynch and the members of the delegation of his foundation in the Parliament of Georgia. The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Education and Science and Culture and Monument Protection, Chairperson of the Education, Science and Culture Committee of Parliament and other members of the Parliament. The discussion touched upon David Lynch’s initiative on opening of a new international film school in Tbilisi.
Minister of Education - Mikheil Chkhenkeli expressed his gratitude to David Lynch for visiting Georgia and noted that the visit of such high ranking director is a great honor for our country. According to Chkhenkeli, new international film academy will become an intellectual center of the region, where in addition to the practical works, the history of the cinematography, theory and philosophy will be thoroughly discussed. In addition, it will be a significant space for international scientific conferences and festivals.
Minister of Education and Science expressed full willingness on behalf of the Ministry to support the initiative of David Lynch. According to the Minister, the cooperation will be enhanced on establishment of a new international film academy.
