The legislative changes approved at today’s Government session will provide formation of the education system of European level in all stages of education.
Legislative changes provide all the important challenges that are on the agenda of the education system of modern developed countries.
Changes to be made to the laws on development of general, vocational and higher education will introduce and develop the mechanisms, which are already proven and effective in the European education systems.
Education received in Georgia will be recognized at the international level. Competitive and qualified personnel will be trained in the Georgian educational institutions that will be able to easily establish their place at local and international markets.
Consequently, the changes will create the legal basis for approval of the revised national qualifications framework and classifier of learning fields. These documents shall define and adapt such effective mechanisms, that provide modernization and development of both formal and informal educational space. Establishment of legal basis ensures eradication of so-called educational deadlock existing between vocational and higher education. Revised legislation provides a possibility for a lifelong learning for a person.
It will also provide access to information, transparency of the information about the educational system of Georgia, both at national and international level, development and reliability of qualification degree assurance system, connection of vocational education with the higher education, recognition of credits collected in vocational education for the purposes of granting of academic degree.
