Minister of Education and Science of Georgia and the Head of USAID Mission attended the lessons prepared within the frameworks of Georgia Primary Education (G-PriEd) in Tbilisi №45 Public School.
On the example of the №45 Public School, Mikheil Chkhenkeli and Douglas H. Ball were informed how teachers use knowledge received in G-PriEd trainings in practice, what kind of innovative methods they apply, how diverse educational resources and visuals they use in the learning process. Most importantly, these lessons are tailored to the need for each pupil.
With the funding of the US Agency for International Development and the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, 6,5-year Georgia Primary Education (G-PriEd) was implemented in Georgia, in which 585 public schools (28% of Georgian schools) of all categories and 121,000 pupils were involved. Within the frameworks of the project, 7,944 teachers of Georgian language, Mathematics and Georgian as a second language and 585 directors were retrained.
G-PriEd has created an internet resource portal www.kargiskola.ge on the base of the Education Management Information System (EMIS), where additional educational diverse resources are available for directors, teachers, pupils and their parents. Directors, teachers, pupils and parents of non-Georgian schools received methodical and training resources in their native language.
