An American organization Peace Corps successfully implements recruiting volunteer native English speaker teachers in Georgia in parallel with the project Teach and Learn With Georgia.

37 volunteer teachers will live in different regions of Georgia and teach the Georgian schoolchildren English language. The native English speakers will give the classes together with the Georgian teachers.

The Ministry of Education and Science announced the new educational program Teach and Learn With Georgia on March, 1 in parallel with the above mentioned project of Peace Corps. The program envisages recruiting 1000 native English speakers, who will be willing to arrive in Georgia. The goal of both programs is to advance the teaching of English language in Georgia.

Registration of the volunteer teachers is underway on the web-site: www.tlg.gov.ge. The web-site was specially created in the framework of the project. The volunteers have an opportunity to apply as well as find the information about history and culture of Georgia on this site.

The last flow of foreign teachers will arrive in Georgia in July. The first two months they will get familiarized with the country. They will have opportunity to learn Georgian language if they wish.  Foreign teachers, together with the local teachers, will be involved in the educational process from the next academic year.  The educational program will cover almost all schools in the cities and the villages of Georgia.  Specialists of English language will arrive in Georgia from America, England, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
