The German International Cooperation Society (GIZ) held a meeting with the Georgian wine producing companies in "Schuchmann Wines Georgia" for the purpose of involving more private companies in the development of the vocational education.

The German experts introduced the current and planned activities implemented in the wine and tourism sectors, as well as, a detailed information on the benefits of work-based / dual vocational education, and the importance of involvement in such educational programs.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, with the support of the GIZ, is implementing the vocational education program – “Viticulturist”, established around the work-based teaching approach. The aforementioned program lasts for three years including the modules covering wine-making, viticulture, wine marketing and administration. The program is implemented jointly by the college and partner organization, where 60% of the learning outcome results in the actual employment in numerous wine companies. Since 2016, two vocational education institutions and 11 wine enterprises are involved in the program.
