Whilst
paying an official visit to Israel, the Minister of Education and Science of
Georgia - Mikheil Chkhenkeli met with the Minister of Education of Israel -
Naftali Bennett. The Minister congratulated the Minister with the jubilee of
70th anniversary since the creation of the State of Israel. The sides discussed
the issue of enhancing the existing of cooperation between the two countries in
the field of education and particularly in science.
Naftali Bennet
underlined the centuries-old friendship between Georgia and Israel and stressed
that enhancing the cooperation at all levels is of utmost important for the
state of Israel.
Additionally,
Mikheil Chkhenkeli introduced Georgia’s plan to his colleague, according to
which, the Georgian-Jewish friendship will be presented to the UNESCO World
Intangible Cultural Heritage list. This fact is a unique precedent in the
history of humankind when friendship between nations will be granted the status
of the world's intangible cultural heritage.
