Within the scope of an official visit to Germany, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia - Mikheil Chkhenkeli visited the Julich Research Center (Forschungszentrum Jülich), where he met with Center representatives, officials, researchers, Georgian scientists and PhD students.
During the minister’s meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Julich Research Center- Wolfgang Marquardt, the minister spoke about the great benefits Georgian young researchers receive from the Center itself and the Georgian-German scientific bridge in general.
It is important to note, in the course of cooperation with the Julich Research Center, two Smart Labs have been established at Tbilisi State University, one of which represents a unique center for atmospheric research.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Hans Stroeher – the director of the Institute of Nuclear Physics at Julich Research Center, noted that the Center is proud of the achievements of the Georgian-German scientific bridge and expressed his full readiness to actively start working on the establishment of a joint laboratory in the field of medicine.
Towards the end of the meeting, Mikheil Chkhenkeli thanked the Julich Research Center representatives, for their continuous support of the Georgian scientists, and spoke about the positive results of the contract, which is planned to be signed during his official visit to Germany. The bilateral agreement will allow Georgian students to visit the Julich experimental laboratory (JuLab) and participate in various amusing scientific experiments and projects.
