Dimitri Shashkini Met With Around 200 Teachers of Guria Region
Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini met with regional teachers in Ozurgeti Public School №2 and spoke about ongoing educational process, planned and already implemented activities in the scope of the reforms. Meeting was held in Q/A format and the Minister answered teachers’ questions on teachers’ certification, Unified entry and graduate exams, school rehabilitation and other important issues.
- 95 public and 4 private schools function in Guria region.
- 2, 750 teachers work and 22,596 school children study there;
- In the framework of mega program “Iakob Gogebashvili” 2 schools were built, 5 public schools were fully rehabilitated and 10 schools partially renovated in 2006-2010.
- In the scope of Deer Leap foundation, regional schools were provided with 880(21/1) computers in 2006-2010.
Minister regularly holds meetings with the teachers of different regions. Dimitri Shashkini will personally introduce ongoing educational reforms to the teachers at working meetings that are held systematically.
