Government
officials continue meetings with residents of different regions of Georgia.
This time, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport - Shalva
Gogoladze and Governor of Kvemo Kartli Region Shota Rekhviashvili, together
with MPs of Georgia, held a meeting with the residents of Dmanisi
Municipalities - Small Dmanisi, Didi Dmanisi, Vardisubani and Bozlebi Dmanisi
and Tsalikhis Khalizi.
Residents
spoke about the general situation in the villages. Among the main problems are
water, natural gas and various infrastructure issues.
In
turn, representatives of the central and local government pledged support to
the population and noted that the problems facing the Dmanisi municipality
would be taken into account when planning the 2020 budget. At the same time,
the issue of granting high-mountain settlement status to villages was
discussed.
During
the meetings they also discussed the tourism potential of the region.
Popularization of Dmanisi town should become an additional source of income for
the municipality population. It is also planned to become an even more attractive
tourist route to the Darbashi Canyon. Priorities include construction / renovation
of schools and development of sports infrastructure. Construction of a mini
playground will soon be completed in the village of Boslani.
The
main purpose of the meetings is to outline the key issues that should be
reflected in the 2020 budget. An open dialogue that will continue to be
actively pursued between government officials and people from different
regions.
