A press conference was held at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport with regards to the announcement of the Mihály Zichy Competition. The event was led by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport - Levan Kharatishvili and the Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary to Georgia - Victoria Horvath.

With the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, the Hungarian Embassy in Georgia announces a competition for illustrators named after Mihály Zichy, who is related to the story of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani's "Wisdom of the Lie". The competition is dedicated to the work of Hungarian artist Mihály Zichy and aims to encourage artists working in the field of Hungarian and Georgian contemporary art, to develop their creative connections, to deepen cultural relations between the two countries.

The terms of the competition will be published on the Ministry's website. Participants will be able to submit their works from January 1, 2020 until March 31. The winner of the competition, with the support of the Hungarian Embassy in Georgia, will travel to the International Art Camp for three weeks.

The name of Hungarian artist Mihály Zichy is closely related to Georgia. He is the author of illustrations for The Knight in the Panther’s Skin. The artist's works are preserved in Georgian museums.
