The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - Mikheil Chkhenkeli hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Georgia - Kelly Degnan. The meeting was attended by the US Embassy Cultural Attaché - Julius Tsai.

Deputy Ministers of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Tamar Kitiashvili and Ekaterine Dgebuadze held a meeting with representatives of resource centers.

Due to the disinfection activities in place for general and higher education institutions for the prevention and spread of coronavirus, the first stage of certification testing of public school principals has been temporarily postponed and will not take place on 06 and 07 March 2020 (see Order # 334).

On February 14, the final stage of the Judo and Greco-Roman Wrestling Tournament was held at Tsalka Sports Complex (7 Chabukiani Street). The two-day tournament was held in 13 weight categories. 80 young athletes  participated in the competition.

The National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement has launched large-scale measures to support the introduction of new standards for the authorization of vocational education institutions, many of which will be implemented within the scope of the agreement between the Center and UNDP.

Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Nunu Mitskevich held a working meeting with the local representatives of the EU Research and Innovation Framework Program "Horizon 2020", which is coordinated by the Ministry.

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, held an introductory meeting with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Georgia, Enrico Valvo, where the sides discussed the prospects of cooperation between Georgia and Italy.

As part of a comprehensive education reform, new standards for authorization in the vocational education system have been adopted, bringing the vocational education system closer to the European standard.
